So as I was absent-mindedly hearing the washing machine going through its mechanical paces one day, I was inspired to incorporate those sounds—the whirling rhythm of the wash tub and the melodic sounds of the rotating drum when struck—into a piece of music. It was fun to compose using my virtual washing machine. And no socks lost!
